EASTON RESIDENT LIFETIME COIN COLLECTION AUCTION
Description
Washington quarters from 1946 to 1958 displayed in a blue album. Each coin is labeled with its year, mint mark (if any), and mintage number in millions.
The coins are organized chronologically and include three mint varieties for most years:
Philadelphia (no mint mark)
San Francisco (S)
Denver (D)
Notable mintage numbers range from:
Lowest: 4.2 million (1946-S)
Highest: 77.9 million (1957-D)
Key observations:
There appears to be one missing coin (1954-S) represented by a dark circle in the album
Most of the coins appear to be in similar condition, showing moderate circulation wear
The collection is complete for this date range except for the 1954-S
Mintage numbers generally increased through the 1950s, with the highest productions typically coming from the Denver mint
Some interesting patterns:
Post-war years (1946-1947) had relatively lower mintages
There was a significant increase in production during the mid-1950s
The Denver mint (D) consistently had higher mintage numbers in the later years
35 Total Quarters.
