EASTON RESIDENT LIFETIME COIN COLLECTION AUCTION
Description
These are two Peace Silver Dollars from 1922, designed by Anthony de Francisci. The obverse features Lady Liberty wearing a crown of rays, while the reverse shows an eagle perched on a mountain crag with an olive branch, with rays in the background. These were minted between 1921-1928 and again in 1934-1935. The coins appear to be in circulated condition but still retain good detail. The 1922 Peace Dollar was one of the most common dates in the series, with over 51 million pieces minted at the Philadelphia Mint. The right coin is from the Denver Mint (1922-D). The Philadelphia Mint (left coin) and Denver Mint were the two main facilities that produced Peace Dollars in 1922, with Denver minting about 15.1 million pieces and Philadelphia producing 51.7 million.
